Weekend 4-1-1 Romantic Suspense, Quirky British Comedy Gems and Zucchini Fries

TGIF. Hello LBVers!- and you know what that means - it's time for the Read, Watch and Eat 4-1-1 for the weekend!

Summer blew out of the northeast with rain and suitably cooler temperatures - it's officially sweater weather!

It's the perfect time to curl up inside with a good book or movie, and a tasty app or two.

Read - You can check out Miranda Leigh's Save Your Breath, a romantic suspense featuring an attorney and PI team who are called in to solve a journalist's disappearance. Of course, things are not what they seem on the surface and the deeper they dig into the missing woman’s life, the closer the pair come to danger themselves.

If you like stories about twins separated at birth and, I mean who doesn’t, Mary Burton's Cut and Run may be just what you're looking for. Medical examiner Faith discovers a trauma victim clinging to life is an FBI agent - and her unknown twin sister (shocking!). As Faith digs into her twin's life, she discovers a shocking history filled with a dark secret. Can she uncover the truth before it's too late for them both?

Watch - Why not go old school with some quirky comedies from the British Isles? In Waking Ned Devine, an aged lottery dies from the shock of his good fortune. But that won’t stop his friends from letting Ned collect his winnings. Beautiful Irish scenery and great acting making this a funny one.

Looking for a (gentle) crime thriller? Queue up Saving Grace, where a very proper English lady turns to agriculture of an illegal kind when her husband leaves her penniless.

Perhaps you have a secret love of firemen calendars? Well, then you might try Calendar Girls. A media sensation ensues when the middle-aged ladies of the village decide to pose nude to raise money for the local hospital. Starring Helen Mirren.

Eat - It's FNL (Friday Night Lights - homecoming game tonight!) which means I am on driving duty, but tomorrow night we're gathering at a friend's house for a family get-together. I’m on tap for an app, so I am going with Zucchini Fries. It's squash harvest time, so I should be able to pick up some zukes at the farmstand along with more mums and apple cider. Gotta love the fall! Get the Zucchini Fries recipe here: Crispy Zucchini Fries with Marinara Sauce
